Nanny / Family Support, Full-time, Buckhead, GA (Atlanta)

New Position. An active family in the Buckhead area is seeking an experienced Nanny to assist with the care of their three young school age children, from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The family employs a primary nanny earlier in the day, and there will be several hours of overlap. Parents are very involved with their children so this position is best suited for someone who enjoys working alongside a parent and being part of a team-oriented household. Good communication, flexibility and the ability to work well with the primary nanny and other household staff are important.

Responsibilities include all traditional nanny duties: engaging the children in age-appropriate activities, preparing meals and snacks, children’s laundry and bedding, organizing bedrooms and play areas, rotating clothing and toys, washing children’s dishes, keeping supplies stocked, and preparing backpacks and other everyday items. The nanny will take the lead with the after dinner routine; assist with bath time, brushing teeth, getting children into their pajamas and putting down for bedtime. Before leaving, all toys and child-related areas should be tidied and reset for the following day.

This is a team-oriented household with a full-time executive housekeeper, a weekly cleaning service and the primary nanny. During quieter periods, the nanny should be willing to lend a hand with light household tasks such as loading or unloading the dishwasher, assisting with family laundry and tidying common areas. Occasional travel is required and will be shared between both nannies. Candidates must be comfortable with domestic and international travel, including occasional extended trips.

Lastly, but also very important, the family are big animals lovers.  They have three very friendly dogs, two cats and fish;  therefore, a genuine comfort working around all types of animals is very important.

Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of recent private-home nanny experience with verifiable references; current CPR/First Aid; valid driver’s license and clean MVR; clean background check; reliable transportation; strong swimming skills; valid passport and willingness to travel. Must be fluent in written and spoken English; a second language, such as Spanish or French, is a plus.
