Family Assistant / Personal Companion, Atlanta (Cumming), GA

New Position.  A lovely physically independent senior couple in Cumming, GA, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated full-time Personal Companion and Assistant to support their daily activities, manage household tasks, and prepare meals. This role requires flexibility to accommodate varying schedules and needs.  Only candidates with private home experience will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation:
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and early dinner, considering any dietary restrictions or preferences.
  • Ensure healthy snacks are readily available throughout the day.
• Medication Management:
  • Dispense medications as prescribed, maintaining accurate records of administration times and dosages.
  • Monitor for any side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
• Appointment Coordination:
  • Schedule and manage medical and personal appointments, ensuring timely reminders and necessary preparations.
  • Accompany or transport the couple to appointments, providing assistance as needed.
• Transportation:
  • Drive the couple to various appointments, errands, or social engagements, ensuring safety and punctuality.
• Housekeeping:
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a tidy living environment.
  • Conduct daily laundry tasks, ensuring clothing and linens are clean and properly stored.
• Companionship:
  • Engage in meaningful conversations and activities to provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Encourage participation in hobbies or social events to promote mental and emotional well-being.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role, providing personal assistance and companionship to seniors.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting or supporting clients and standing, walking, bending, or crawling for extended periods.
• First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Recent verifiable references.
• English speaking.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
