Housekeeper / Laundress / Cook, Full-time, Atlanta, GA

New Position. A lovely, retired Atlanta couple is seeking a Housekeeper / Cook who can become an important part of their household and daily routine. They’re looking for someone to become a trusted extra set of hands around the home. Their current housekeeper of 6 years has relocated further out and can no longer do the commute into the city.

This home is 7000 sq ft. with two occupants. The responsibilities include general housekeeping, maintaining the overall presentation of the residence, complete family laundry, ongoing organization of closets, wardrobes, cabinets, changing bed linens, tracking household supplies and staples and restocking. The couple also enjoys simple, home-cooked meals. Preparing possible breakfast or a light lunch, most important is to leave a healthy evening dinner.

Additional duties include assisting with household errands, grocery shopping, dry cleaning, ordering staples items online, and receiving packages. More than anything, they are hoping to find someone of kind nature who doesn’t mind helping out wherever needed. Whether it’s lending a hand with small day-to-day tasks, accompanying one of the principals on an errand or appointment and helping carry items in or around the house. They value someone who can be an extra set of eyes and hands around the home and report to them any issues around the house, i.e., minor repairs, changing a lightbulb, replacing batteries, etc. Additionally, someone with a good knowledge of current technology to help with television or wif/cable issues.

The couple is hoping to find a person who will be devoted and stay with them through their final years.  To be considered candidates must have 5 or more years of experience working in a private residence with recent and verifiable references. Personality is important to them; someone with warm and sunny disposition, who can handle emergency situations, has sound judgment, and a willingness to assist wherever they need help. Candidates must be physically fit; able to pick up 40 lbs., have excellent English, both oral and written, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, be able to pass a background check, and be legally authorized to work in the US.
