House Manager / Family Assistant / Meal Support, Full-time, Atlanta, GA

New Position. A lovely couple living in the Sandy Springs area is seeking a long-term, full-time House Manager who can also assist with light meal support and occasional dog sitting.  The residence is 10,000 square feet, with two full time occupants and a college age son who comes home a couple of weekends a month.  Occupants are out of the house all day.

This is an 80% full charge housekeeping and laundry position.  Cleaning will include bathrooms, bedrooms, floors, kitchen and all common areas.  Laundry is not heavy, with exception of weekends when their son comes home. Ironing is light, only bed linens; all other clothing is sent to dry cleaners.  The other 20% of the time is spent receiving packages, maintaining inventory and purchasing household staple items, running general errands, coordinating outside service providers, watering indoor and outdoor plants, and organizing all interior storage spaces. The position also includes walking their senior Labrador who’s friendly and loves people.  Light meal support is not frequent and consists of very simple meal prep and placing it in the oven.

The family’s expectation is the home is generally maintained at a “maintenance cleaning” level with periodic deep cleaning set and established by the house manager.  Family is seeking a person who will be proactive, trustworthy, organized, and comfortable working independently with no supervision. The current Housekeeper will be retiring toward the end of July after many years with the principal, so the family is hoping to find someone seeking a stable, long-term role.

To be considered, candidates should have a minimum of four or more years of experience in a similar role in private homes. Recent and verifiable references must be provided. Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, is also important, along with legal authorization to work in the United States. A reliable vehicle, a clean motor vehicle record, and the ability to pass a background check are required. All references will be verified.
