New Position. A retired senior couple who’s also a returning client is seeking a Personal Assistant & Companion to support the Missus. The Mister already employs a personal assistant. Their goal is to find someone who will support her in maintaining a well-balanced, active, and enjoyable daily routine. She is very capable and independent but is becoming limited in her mobility. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being of service and enjoys good conversation.
This role is a blend of companionship with hands-on personal assistance; ideal for someone who can switch between being a trusted confidante, a reliable driver, and a self-starting household helper. The personality will be a big aspect. The Missus is in full charge of the household and will direct decisions and expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing reliable transportation to appointments, luncheons, social events, shopping trips, and errands
- Assisting with scheduling appointments, correspondence, and keeping track of reminders
- Preparing simple, fresh, and healthy meals while maintaining a tidy, well-organized kitchen
- Track and replenish household inventory and staple items
- Drive and assist Missus with household errands including groceries, RX pickups, etc.
- Offering companionship through pleasant conversation, reading, walks, or shared outings
- Helping maintain gentle structure and daily consistency while respecting the Missus’ independence
- Acting as a liaison between family members, vendors, and service providers as needed
- Assisting with light housekeeping, linen changes, and occasional organizational projects
- Performing laundry duties, including light ironing or wardrobe care when required
- Providing quiet, reassuring support during travel or family visits when extra help is appreciated
This position will only consider female candidates. The expectations are someone patient and personable, with excellent communication skills. They should be proactive and capable of anticipating needs without being intrusive, maintaining a professional appearance, a safe driving record, a clean background check, basic computer knowledge, and previous private home experience. Fluent in English; both written and oral. Must provide recent and verifiable references, legal status to work in the US and live in the Gwinnett County area. Candidates should also be in good physical shape and capable of managing the varied errands and activities.
