New Position. Active family is seeking an experienced chef to join their wonderful team 1 hour south of Atlanta. Principal is looking for someone who is comfortable taking full charge of the kitchen and confident cooking a range of cuisines while adapting to the family’s eating / diet lifestyle. Ideal candidate will have a strong awareness of food safety and hygiene. Someone with an approachable and consistent demeanor will fit right in. This is live-in position during the week with the option to go home on the weekends. Family does provide separate housing on the property.
Family prefers an organic farm-to-table approach to cooking. Responsibilities for this job include preparation of daily lunch and dinner meals for family using only fresh ingredients, coordinate and submit menus to principal for approval prior to each week and daily shopping and purchasing all ingredients and groceries while tracking inventory that’s running low. Other duties include setting the table, maintaining the sanitation and organization of the kitchen, appliances, and kitchen equipment. Keep pantries stocked with and organized with family’s favorite snacks. Occasional cooking for guests will be required, notice will be given. Ensure to pack and label all food appropriately for later consumption.
Requirements for this position will include formal culinary training. Background working in hospitality is a plus. Must have full command of English both written and oral and be able to provide recent and verifiable references. Only local Georgia residents will be considered. A clean background check and MVR needed. Legal status to work in the US required.
