Position Placed. An elderly gentleman, recently widowed, is seeking a caring and reliable individual to fill the role of a full-time houseman, companion and driver to assist with his day to day activities. The principal is in good health and independent. The position is simply to act in a supporting role in his well-being, physically and mentally.
Duties will include maintaining the organization and tidiness of Mister’s personal space ensuring it’s free of any hazards. Handle his personal laundry, any ironing needed, and other valet duties to help in maintaining his appearance. Track and replenish his toiletries and any preferred household groceries. Daily preparation of meals including lunch and dinner; simple recipe cooking is sufficient. The family prefers him to be encouraged to socialize, so accompanying him to lunch or dinner is a win- win. He is well established in the community and has many friends. Driving him to golf games, taking him to the country club to meet friends will be a weekly affair. The family does own a couple of beach homes which Mister enjoys going for short stays; normally weekends. Other duties will include working together with his personal assistant to keep his calendar accurate on doctor appointments, prescription refills and personal and social activities.
As Mister’s companion, communication skills are essential! You will have the sole responsibility of keeping his children informed of any sudden changes in his physical or mental stability.
Requirements: Male only candidates will be considered. A very compassionate, kind, positive and accountable individual. Other requirements: excellent oral and written English communication, able to clear a background check and MVR. Important to keep in mind, this schedule can vary from week to week based on Mister’s needs.
