New Position. An absolutely lovely semi-retired couple in Hilton Head, South Carolina is beginning a search to replace their 16-year executive housekeeper and cook. They are in hopes of finding the person who will go forward with them into their next sixteen years. Most important to this couple is an amicable and positive disposition.
Qualifying skills you must possess to be considered: Experience working in large scale homes with fine furnishings, valued collectables, expensive floor coverings and fabrics; knowledge of wardrobe organization, caring for designer clothing and linens, broad knowledge of cleaning products and equipment, able to perform daily errands, prepare simple meals for two and willingness to travel occasionally.
Overall scope of position: Primary daily focus is a presentable appearance of residence at all times; with special attention to master suite, kitchen and high traffic areas. Other duties: set-up a systematic cleaning schedule for entire residence; organization of all closets, drawers and cabinets; laundry/ironing and folding, maintain inventory and purchase all cleaning products along with Principals personal essentials, prepare simple breakfast and occasional dinner prep. Occasional travel may be requested to Principal’s other residences, but this would be infrequent. However, when family is traveling care of two dogs and house security will be needed. Household errands will consist of weekly grocery shopping, dry cleaning and purchasing household products and supplies. Other occasional duties will be supervising monthly service vendors, assisting as a support role when family is entertaining which is mostly family members and all other duties as would compliment the position.
All qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current location. Offsite housing will be offered if needed. This family owns several homes throughout the US but spends 70% of their time in Hilton Head. They also employ other staff members.
Employer requires an individual who is capable of self-direction, needs little to no supervision, is preemptive, has experience working in a similar job description and most importantly a cheerful approach to their job. Must haves: Stable employment history, 5 years of experience working in private homes with recent verifiable references, clean background, excellent command of English language (verbal and written).
